Amanda McCauley’s mixed media work fuses materials from the natural world. Each piece of art is meticulously made with layers of collaged flowers, seaweeds and other natural materials. With a degree in Graphic Design, Amanda developed a novel idea, the art of pressed flowers and ocean algae to create beautiful graphics. Her works translate into a distinctive artistic style, using preserved, pressed flora and floating seaweeds as the palate for highly original organic collages. A self-described rule breaker, McCauley continually strives to work outside of any one genre. She splits her time between New York City and Lopez Island, Washington, where she runs her studio, The Barn. McCauley maintains a rigorous studio practice, and leads inspired, pressed flower workshops in gorgeous locations . Through her workshops, she empowers communities to be more hands-on with their surroundings. With a passionate drive to enact positive change in the world, Amanda volunteer’s her time and donates a significant portion of her work to the many causes she supports on both coasts. Her works are held in private collections across the country. For inquiries, pricing, & commission ideas, please contact her directly at amcchiggins@me.com
